Terms & Conditions

Booking & Payment

  1. 30% deposit payment is due at time of starting your project.
  2. Remaining payment of 70% is due on day of completion.
  3. Payment may be made by cash or bank transfer.

Sealing & Maintenance

  1. Three coats of lacquer and two coats of oil are standard. Additional coats are available, please ask.
  2. Seal longevity is dependent on traffic conditions and maintenance imposed by client.
  3. We recommend maintaining floor with professional maintenance products only.
  4. Professional maintenance products and yearly maintenance programmes are available through the office, please ask.
  5. Seals are generally touch dry in 2 hours, oils in 4 hrs. It is the client's responsibility to make arrangements as necessary so as to avoid contact with seals during curing time.
  6. Seals require 3 days curing time and heavy foot traffic avoided.
  7. Floors should not be covered, nor furniture replaced, until curing process is complete. WMG cannot be held liable for marking to floors after job is complete.
  8. It is not the responsibility of WMG to protect floors after job completion.
  9. WMG reserves the right to change job specification as necessary in order to provide the most appropriate finish for floor.

The Floor Sanding Process

  1. It is the client's responsibility to ensure rooms are completely empty of furniture and other tradesmen at the start of work. Furniture removal service is available, please ask.
  2. If rooms are not left empty, WMG cannot be held liable for any damage that occurs during removal of furniture.
  3. We recommend that floors are completed as the final part of a project.
  4. Our sanding process is 95-98% dust-free.
  5. Although due care and diligence will be exercised by WMG, due to nature of machine work decoration and skirting may be liable to marking. WMG cannot be held liable for unavoidable marking nor the cost of redecoration.

Hours of Work

  1. Where possible hours of work will be 8am-4pm, Monday to Friday. However we do work weekends when required.

Gap Filling

  1. Due to the natural movement of the wood filling cannot be guaranteed.

Repairs

  1. Repairs will be made as necessary to make good floor surface unless otherwise instructed by client. Sub-structure repairs will only be made after instruction by client.
  2. A statement of the structure of repair cost will be made on estimate. Actual cost of repair is only available when repairs have been completed. All repairs are recorded on job sheet.
  3. Supply of reclaimed timber is in accordance with market availability.
  4. Reclaimed timber cannot be guaranteed the same color as existing timber and cannot be guaranteed worm-free.

Colouring/Staining

  1. All colour samples are representative and may vary due to individual conditions.
  2. Once colour has been agreed, verbally or otherwise, any changes will be chargeable at full job rate.
  3. It is the client's responsibility to check colour at moment of application if a true representation is required. Recolouring will be chargeable at full job rate.
  4. Due to nature of application technique, skirting may be marked during colouring. WMG cannot be held liable for marking or redecoration.

Electrical Supply

  1. Sanding machinery requires 240v in ready supply. It is the client's responsibility to ensure their power supply is in appropriate condition to undertake work.

Rubbish Removal

  1. Standard rubbish removal is NOT included in job price unless otherwise stated. Additional rubbish removal for discarded carpet etc. can be discussed during the estimate.

Changes To The Terms

  1. We aim to update the Site regularly, and may change the content of the Site at any time. We reserve the right to make changes to these terms and conditions or the Site at any time. If the need arises, we may suspend access to the Site, or close it indefinitely. Any of the material on the Site may be out of date at any given time, and we are under no obligation to update such material.
